Cuno Tarfusser, born 11 August 1954 in Merano, South Tyrol, Italy, studied at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Padua and built an extensive career in Italy as a prosecutor, including holding the office of Chief Public Prosecutor. Nominated by Italy, he served as a judge of the International Criminal Court from 11 March 2009 to 10 March 2018, was assigned to Pre-Trial Chamber II, and served as the Court's Second Vice-President from 11 March 2012 to 10 March 2015, participating in several landmark cases involving Kenyan officials and other high-profile defendants.
