Modern Constitutional and Supreme Court Judges of the Americas

Pedro Hernandez Chavez is a Peruvian magistrate who became president of the Constitutional Tribunal of Peru on September 4, 2026, elected by the tribunal plenary for the 2026-2028 term. At his swearing-in he named reducing the tribunal case backlog as a priority and pledged to lead the court with independence and legal rigor.
