Claudius Tryphoninus was a Roman jurist active in the late second and early third centuries AD, a student of Cervidius Scaevola who later sat on the imperial consilium of Septimius Severus alongside Papinian. He wrote a collection of Notae and a twenty-one book Disputationes, and fragments of his work were later excerpted into Justinian's Digest. He appears to have survived Severus, who died in 212, and a surviving rescript from Severus's son Caracalla was likely addressed to him in his capacity as advocatus fisci.
