Chris Van den Wyngaert, born April 2, 1952, in Antwerp, is a Belgian jurist who served as a judge of the International Criminal Court from 2009 to 2018 in its Trial Division. She earlier sat as an ad litem judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia from 2003 to 2005 and then as a permanent judge there from 2005 to 2009, and served as an ad hoc judge of the International Court of Justice from 2000 to 2002. King Albert II of Belgium granted her the title of baroness in 2013 in recognition of her judicial service, and she has been a university professor of criminal law at the University of Antwerp since 1985, holding a law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a doctorate in law from the University of Brussels.
