Chafika Bensaoula is an Algerian jurist with a doctorate in public law who was elected a judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights in January 2017 and re elected in February 2023 for a second six year term. She currently serves as the court's Vice President. In Algeria she has served as an advisor to the Council of State and the Conflicts Tribunal, a judge of the Criminal Affairs Chambers and the Court of Appeal, an inspector of administrative and judicial courts, and a lecturer at the National School of Magistracy, and has written on mediation and conciliation in Algerian administrative law.
