Bruno Cotte, born 10 June 1945 in Lyon, France, is a French jurist who was a member of France's Cour de Cassation before his international judicial career. He served as Director for Criminal Affairs and Pardons at the French Ministry of Justice from 1984 to 1990, Attorney General of the Versailles Court of Appeal in 1990, Public Prosecutor of the Paris district court from 1990 to 1995, counsel for the prosecution at the Court of Cassation from 1995 to 2000, and President of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation from 2000 to 2007. Nominated by France and appointed to the Court's List A of criminal law experts, he served as a judge of the International Criminal Court, representing the Western European and Others group, from 3 December 2007 to 31 May 2014.
