Bruce Arnold Ackerman, born August 19, 1943, is an American legal scholar and political philosopher who serves as Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University. He is known for his theory of constitutional transformation through what he calls constitutional moments and for his concept of dualist democracy. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was named among the top global thinkers listed by Foreign Policy magazine in 2010.
