Bora Laskin was a Canadian jurist who served as the 14th Chief Justice of Canada from 1973 to 1984, having become the first Jewish justice to sit on the Supreme Court of Canada upon his appointment in 1970. Before his judicial career he was a law professor and labour lawyer known for his expertise in constitutional law and civil liberties.
