B. S. Chimni, full name Bhupinder S. Chimni, is an Indian international legal scholar and a distinguished professor at Jindal Global Law School. He previously chaired the Centre for International Legal Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, from which he retired in 2017, and served as vice chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences. His work spans international law, international trade law and refugee law, and he is associated with the Third World Approaches to International Law scholarly movement. He served as an independent member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India parliament, from 1996 to 2004, and has held visiting positions at Harvard Law School as a Fulbright Scholar, the University of Tokyo and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law.
