Armin von Bogdandy, born in 1960 in Oberhausen, West Germany, is a German legal scholar who directs the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. He also holds a professorship in public law, European law and international economic law at Goethe University Frankfurt. He earned his law degree and doctorate at the University of Freiburg and completed his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin, and received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize in 2014. His scholarship focuses on structural changes affecting public law.
