Al-Mundhiri, full name Abu Muhammad Abd al-Azim ibn Abd al-Qawi Zaki al-Din al-Mundhiri, was a Sunni Egyptian scholar of Syrian origin. He was an influential jurist, a hadith specialist, a historian and a researcher well versed in the Arabic language, and is regarded as the greatest hadith scholar of his time.
