Al-Hakim al-Nishapuri, born Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Hakim al-Nishapuri (933 to 1014 CE) and also known as Ibn al-Bayyi, was a Persian Sunni scholar and the leading traditionist of his age, frequently called the Imam of the Muhaddithin or the Muhaddith of Khorasan. He was widely renowned for his expertise in hadith criticism and was regarded as the foremost hadith master of his time; the scholar Al-Daraqutni considered him superior in the science of hadith to Ibn Manda.
