Abu Bakr al-Ajurri, known as Imam al-Ajurri, was a tenth-century Islamic scholar remembered as a theologian, hadith traditionist, and jurist (faqih). Born in the Darb al-Ajurr quarter of western Baghdad, he studied under several scholars in Iraq before moving to Mecca, where he taught for thirty years until his death in 970. His students included the hadith transmitter Abu Nu'aym al-Isfahani.
