All Inter-American Court of Human Rights Judges

Inter-American Court of Human Rights Judges gathers the judges of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the San Jose, Costa Rica based tribunal established under the American Convention on Human Rights to interpret and apply the Convention for the member states of the Organization of American States that have accepted its jurisdiction. Seven judges sit at a time, elected by the OAS General Assembly for six year terms renewable once, and the court hears contentious cases referred to it by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights as well as requests for advisory opinions from OAS member states and organs, producing an influential body of case law on enforced disappearance, indigenous land rights and freedom of expression across Latin America and the Caribbean.
