Willem Jan Mari van Eysinga (1878 to 1961) was a Dutch diplomat and legal scholar born in Noordwijkerhout. He served as a judge of the Permanent Court of International Justice from 1931 until the court's dissolution in 1945, while also holding professorships at the University of Groningen and Leiden University, where he was rector magnificus from 1928 to 1929. He took part in the Paris Peace Conference after the First World War and represented Dutch interests in League of Nations bodies, and was elected to the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1926. He wrote extensively on international law, particularly on river navigation rights, and died in Leiden in 1961.
