Keba Mbaye

Keba Mbaye was a Senegalese judge who lived from 5 August 1924 to 11 January 2007, born in Kaolack and dying in Dakar. He served as Honorary Chief Justice of Senegal's Supreme Court from 1964 to 1982 and as President of the International Commission of Jurists from 1977 to 1985, and he was elected a judge of the International Court of Justice, serving as its Vice-President. He was also a longtime member of the International Olympic Committee from 1973 to 2002, serving as its Vice-President and chairing its ethics commission, and he helped advance South Africa's reintegration into the Olympic movement after apartheid.
