Iain Bonomy

Iain Bonomy, Lord Bonomy, is a Scottish judge, born January 15, 1946, in Motherwell, Scotland. He was appointed a Senator of the College of Justice in 1997 and sat as a judge of Scotland's supreme courts, the Court of Session and the High Court of Justiciary, until 2012, hearing mainly civil and criminal cases at first instance. From 2004 to 2009 he served as a judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, presiding over the trial of former Serbian President Milan Milutinovic and preparing the case against Radovan Karadzic before resigning in 2009 for personal reasons. He was appointed to the Privy Council in October 2010 and later served as a judge of the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals from February 2020.
