Sergei Krylov

Sergei Borisovich Krylov was a Soviet diplomat and jurist who lived from 13 January 1888 to 24 November 1958, holding a law degree from the University of St Petersburg earned in 1910. He helped draft the United Nations Charter, became a leading Soviet scholar of international law, taught at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Academy of Social Sciences, and helped establish the Soviet Yearbook of International Law. He became the first Soviet judge to sit on an international court when he was elected to the International Court of Justice at its founding in 1946, serving until 1952.
