The Supreme Court of Tajikistan is one of the courts through which the 2016 Constitution says the judicial power is exercised, beside the Constitutional Court, the Highest Economic Court, the Military Court and the regional, city and district courts. Its Chairman, Deputy Chairmen and judges are elected and recalled on the presentation of the President. On 21 January 2025 President Emomali Rahmon nominated Rustam Mirzozoda, previously Chairman of the High Economic Court, as Chairman of the Supreme Court, replacing Shermuhammad Shohiyon who had held the post since 2015.
