The Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic is Slovakia highest juridical authority, based in Bratislava. It was established on 1 January 1993 as the continuation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic that had existed within the Czechoslovak federation, following the division of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and it serves as the ultimate appeals court for Slovakia lower courts, apart from administrative law cases, which go instead to the Supreme Administrative Court of Slovakia.
