The Supreme Court is Serbia court of last resort, reviewing and, where warranted, overturning rulings made by lower courts. Traced to the Supreme Land Court established in 1846 under Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, the court took the name Supreme Court of Cassation under Serbia 2006 Constitution before returning to the name Supreme Court following 2022 constitutional amendments. It sits in Belgrade with fifty judges, including its president.
