Supreme Court of Justice (Portugal)

The Supreme Court of Justice is the highest court of law in Portugal, without prejudice to the separate jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court, and its judges, called counselors, try senior government officials for crimes committed in office, harmonize judicial rulings and hear appeals from the Courts of Appeal and courts of first instance. Created by the 1822 Portuguese Constitution and installed eleven years later, it replaced three older royal courts and sits in the northern wing of the Praca do Comercio in Lisbon with sixty four judges.
