The Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador heads the Judicial Organ, which the Constitution makes up of the Court, the Chambers of Second Instance and the other tribunals the law establishes. Its magistrates number as many as the law determines, are elected by the Legislative Assembly, and one of them is President of the Court and of the Judicial Organ. It has a Constitutional Division that resolves petitions of unconstitutionality of laws, decrees and regulations, amparo and habeas corpus cases. The Legislative Assembly swore in Henry Alexander Mejia as its president, to preside over the Judicial Organ until 15 November 2027.
