Supreme Court of Appeal of Malawi

The Supreme Court of Appeal of Malawi is the superior court of record that the Constitution of Malawi establishes, and it is the highest appellate court, with jurisdiction to hear appeals from the High Court and from such other courts and tribunals as an Act of Parliament prescribes. No court of superior or concurrent jurisdiction with the Supreme Court of Appeal or the High Court may be established. Its Justices are the Chief Justice and such number of other Justices of Appeal, not fewer than three, as an Act of Parliament prescribes. When it determines any matter other than an interlocutory one, it sits with an uneven number of Justices of Appeal, not fewer than three. The Constitution provides that there shall be a Supreme Court of Appeal for Malawi, and it gives the court such jurisdiction and powers as the Constitution or any other law confers on it.
