Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal

The Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal is a court of justice of second instance in Rivers State, Nigeria, with appellate and supervisory jurisdiction over matters of customary law, aiming to interpret the culture and customs of the people of Rivers State while complementing the work of the State High Court. It is headed by a president assisted by judges appointed to standards set by the Rivers State House of Assembly; Peter N.C. Agumagu served as its first president from 2008 to 2014, and Christy Nwankwo has served as president since her appointment by Governor Ezenwo Wike on May 29, 2015.
