The People's Supreme Court is the highest judicial organ of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It examines the decisions of the People's Courts and the Military Courts, and stands at the head of a system made up of the Supreme Court, local People's Courts and Military Courts. The National Assembly elects or removes its President on the recommendation of the President of the State, and approves the appointment or removal of its judges on the recommendation of the President of the Court. Its Vice-President is appointed or removed by the President of the State. Viengthong Siphandone became its President in March 2021.
