The Federal Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates is the country's highest federal court, reviewing judgments of the Federal Court of Appeal and holding original jurisdiction over disputes between emirates. Established on 2 August 1973 and seated in Abu Dhabi, it is limited to five judges appointed by presidential decree, and its authority does not extend to Dubai or Ras Al Khaimah, which maintain their own separate local judicial systems.
