The Curia, known as the Supreme Court before 2011, is the supreme court and highest judicial authority of Hungary, seated in Budapest. It was founded in 1949 as the Supreme Court of the Hungarian People Republic and succeeded the historic Royal Curia of Hungary. The Curia hears cases through civil, criminal and administrative and labor divisions, and its rulings on the uniform application of the law are binding on Hungary lower courts.
