The Court of Cassation of Haiti is the Supreme Court of the country, named in the 2012 Constitution as Supreme Court (Cour de Cassation) first among the bodies in which the Judicial Power is vested, ahead of the Courts of Appeal, Courts of First Instance, Courts of Peace and special courts. Its justices are chosen from a list the Executive receives from the Superior Council of the Judiciary, and its President is among the most important figures in the country. Jean Joseph Lebrun is the judge presiding over it.
