The Constitutional Court of Burundi is the jurisdiction of the State in constitutional matters, and it also validates the election of the President of the Republic and of the legislature. It is composed of seven members, at least four of whom are career magistrates, and its members are chosen from among jurists distinguished by moral integrity, impartiality and independence. A member appointed to replace one whose functions have ended early completes the term of the one replaced. Meeting together with the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court forms the High Court of Justice of the Republic of Burundi.
