Sudan's Draft Constitutional Declaration, signed on 4 August 2019 by the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change alliance, serves as the country's current de facto constitution, a 70-article document across 16 chapters that replaced the 2005 Interim National Constitution after the latter was suspended in the April 2019 overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir. It set out a transitional plan intended to restore democratic governance, and it was substantially amended on 23 February 2025 to extend the transitional period by a further 39 months and establish a new Transitional Legislative Authority.
