Quasi-judicial body

A quasi-judicial body is a non-judicial body that can interpret law: an entity such as an arbitration panel or tribunal board, which may be a public administrative agency outside the judicial branch of government, or a contract-based or private-law entity, that has been given powers and procedures resembling those of a court of law or a judge. Such a body is obliged to objectively determine facts and draw conclusions from them to provide the basis for an official action, and its actions may remedy a situation, impose legal penalties, or affect the legal rights, duties, or privileges of specific parties.
