Delaware Superior Court

The Delaware Superior Court, previously known as the Superior Court and Orphans' Court, is the state trial court of general jurisdiction in Delaware. It was established by the Delaware Constitution on 2 December 1831 and took effect on 17 January 1832, and it holds broad jurisdiction over most criminal and civil matters in the state, though equity cases go instead to the separate Court of Chancery. The court also functions as an intermediate appellate body, reviewing decisions from lower courts and administrative agencies.
