A specialized court is a type of court with limited subject-matter jurisdiction over a particular field of law, in contrast to an ordinary court's general subject-matter jurisdiction. Such courts concentrate expertise and procedure on a narrow legal specialty, such as labor, tax or drug matters, rather than handling the broad range of cases an ordinary court would hear.
