The Chhattisgarh High Court is the high court of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, one of the High Courts of India, and it sits in Village Bodri, near the city of Bilaspur. It came into being on 1 November 2000, the day the new state of Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in the reorganisation of that state, and it is counted as the nineteenth High Court of India. Its jurisdiction covers the territory of the state of Chhattisgarh, so it hears appeals and constitutional petitions arising from the subordinate courts of that state. Justice R. S. Garg served as its first acting Chief Justice, which marks the court's start as an institution separate from the Madhya Pradesh High Court that previously served the region.
