Council of State (Belgium)

The Council of State, known in Dutch and French as the Raad van State or Conseil d Etat, is the supreme administrative court of Belgium. Its functions include assisting the executive with legal advice and serving as the supreme court for administrative justice, and its members are, for the most part, high-level jurists. The Council meets and has its offices in the Palace of the Marquess of Assche, built by the architect Alphonse Balat.
