The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, abbreviated in English as the Court of BiH and known locally as Sud Bosne i Hercegovine, is the highest ordinary court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina established it on 3 July 2002 under the Law on the Court of BiH, which the High Representative had promulgated on 12 November 2000. It sits in Sarajevo and was created to give judicial protection in matters that the state Constitution places under state jurisdiction, such as the fight against terrorism, war crimes, human trafficking and organized and economic crime. Unlike the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, whose work rested on a United Nations Security Council statute, the Court of BiH has no limited mandate and gives verdicts under state law, including the BiH Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, in the official languages of the country. International judges and prosecutors worked alongside nationals until 2009, after which citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina hold the key functions. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected attempts by the Republika Srpska government to remove its jurisdiction there.
