The Federal Insurance Court was an independent judicial division of Switzerlands federal court system, headquartered in Lucerne, functioning as a specialized tribunal for judicial review of administrative decisions related to social security, staffed by eleven full-time and eleven part-time judges. It ceased operating on December 31, 2006, when it merged completely into the Swiss Federal Supreme Court as the revised Federal Court Law took effect on January 1, 2007, integrating its functions and judges into the main Supreme Court.
