The Federal Constitution of Austria is the body of all constitutional law of the Republic of Austria at the federal level, split across many different acts rather than gathered into one single document. Its centerpiece is the Federal Constitutional Law, known as the B-VG, which was adopted on 1 October 1920 and includes the most important federal constitutional provisions, and has been amended several times since. Alongside the B-VG there are many other federal constitutional laws and individual provisions in statutes and treaties designated as constitutional; the B-VG itself contains no bill of rights, with provisions on civil liberties instead spread across various constitutional pieces of legislation.
