Constitution of Moldova

The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova was adopted on 29 July 1994 and took effect on 27 August 1994, establishing Moldova as a sovereign, independent and neutral unitary parliamentary republic with executive, legislative and judicial branches and a single-chamber Parliament. It enshrines the separation and cooperation of powers, political pluralism, human rights and freedoms, and adherence to international law and treaties, and it has been amended ten times since adoption, most recently in 2024 following a referendum on the country's path toward European Union membership.
