Constitution of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania

The Constitution of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania was the constitution of communist Albania, promulgated on 28 December 1976 by the People's Assembly. It formally established Albania as a People's Socialist Republic and replaced the country's original 1946 constitution, which had set up post-World War II Albania as a People's Republic. The 1976 document organized the state across three main parts, covering the social and economic order, the structure and administration of government institutions, and the state's national symbols and general provisions. It codified the ruling Party of Labour of Albania's central role in political life and remained the country's governing charter through the final years of Enver Hoxha's isolationist rule, until communist Albania's political system began to collapse at the start of the 1990s.
