Constitution of Djibouti

The Constitution of Djibouti was adopted on 4 September 1992 and amended in 2010. It establishes a tripartite system with an executive headed by a president serving renewable five year terms, a unicameral National Assembly led by a prime minister whose deputies serve five year terms and must be at least twenty three years old, and a judiciary that includes a Supreme Court and a six judge Constitutional Council for judicial review, across ninety seven articles organized into thirteen titles. Islam is the designated state religion, and French and Arabic are the official languages.
