David Mendes, in full Manuel David Mendes, is an Angolan lawyer, human rights activist, and politician, and one of the best known figures of Angolan civil society. Known as the advocate of the poor for his opposition to government corruption, he directs the Angolan human rights organization Maos Livres and has been sued by the Angolan government in multiple corruption cases as a result.
