Louis-Philippe Brodeur (1862-1924) was a Canadian journalist, lawyer, politician and judge from Quebec who was first elected to Parliament as a Liberal member for Rouville in 1891 and represented the riding until 1911. He served as Speaker of the House of Commons from 1901, then as a Cabinet minister under Wilfrid Laurier from 1904 to 1911, holding the portfolios of Inland Revenue, Marine and Fisheries, and Naval Service, in which last role he introduced the legislation establishing the Canadian Navy. Laurier appointed him a puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1911; he resigned in 1923 due to poor health and served briefly as the thirteenth Lieutenant Governor of Quebec until his death in January 1924.
