James Maclennan (1833-1915) was a Canadian lawyer, politician and Puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, born in Lancaster, Upper Canada, who earned a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University in 1849 and was called to the bar in 1857. He practiced law with Oliver Mowat in Toronto until 1888, when he moved to the Ontario Court of Appeal, and he twice won and twice lost contested elections to the House of Commons for Victoria North in 1874. In 1905 he was appointed a Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, serving until his retirement in 1909.
