Oswald Smith Crocket (1868-1945) was a Canadian jurist and Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, born in Chatham, New Brunswick, who earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick in 1886 and was admitted to practice law in the province in 1892. He represented York, New Brunswick in the House of Commons as a Conservative from 1904 to 1913 before being appointed to the King's Bench division of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick in 1913. Prime Minister R.B. Bennett appointed him to Canada's Supreme Court in 1932 at age 64, where historians have described him as an inflexible and deeply traditionalist appointment who was in friction with Chief Justice Lyman Duff; he served until mandatory retirement at 75 in 1943.
