Telesphore Fournier was a Canadian politician and lawyer born August 5, 1823 in Saint-Francois-de-la-Riviere-du-Sud, Lower Canada, who served in Parliament and held three ministerial posts under Prime Minister Alexander Mackenzie. He was one of the six original justices appointed to the newly established Supreme Court of Canada in 1875, one of two Quebec justices chosen to represent the province's civil law tradition, and served as a puisne justice for nineteen years until his retirement in 1895. He died May 10, 1896 in Ottawa.
