Arthur Cyrille Albert Malouin

Arthur Cyrille Albert Malouin (1857-1936) was a Canadian lawyer, politician and Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, born in Quebec City, who earned a Bachelor of Law from Universite Laval in 1882 and practiced law there. He served in Parliament as a Liberal member for Quebec-Centre from 1898 to 1905 while also sitting as a Puisne Judge of the Quebec Superior Court in the Arthabaska District. Prime Minister Mackenzie King appointed him to the Supreme Court in 1924, but Malouin had not sought the post and, weakened by severe diabetes, resigned after less than a year, in what historians describe as the second shortest tenure in the court's history and the shortest not ended by death.
