Eastern Europe and the Balkans gathers the modern judges of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia and Turkey, a broad grouping of post-Soviet, post-Yugoslav and other Eastern European and transcontinental judiciaries whose constitutional courts were mostly established or rebuilt in the years following the fall of Communism and the breakup of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union.
