Henry Allan Fagan (4 April 1889 to 6 December 1963) was a South African Chief Justice, writer and politician who served as the eleventh Chief Justice of South Africa from 1957 to 1959. He had earlier served as a Member of Parliament and as Minister of Native Affairs under J. B. M. Hertzog's government, and was an early supporter of the Afrikaans language movement and an accomplished Afrikaans playwright and novelist. Although a long-time member of the Broederbond who played a significant role in Afrikaner nationalism, he later opposed Hendrik Verwoerd's National Party and is best known for heading the Fagan Commission, whose report recommended a more liberal approach to racial integration.
